Nutrifoods Ghana Limited has initiated an immediate recall of select batches of its Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix following regulatory investigations into product bloating.
The recall, mandated by Ghana’s Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and National Security, affects all 210g and 400g canned products alongside specific 380g and 1.05kg pouches.
In a public notice, Business Head Jay Jagadip Anjaria expressed regret for the inconvenience, stressing the company’s commitment to “stringent national food safety standards.”
Nutrifoods urged consumers to discontinue use of affected items and return them to its Tema office or nationwide distributors for replacement. The recall follows FDA’s suspension of can production lines in January 2025, with all manufacturing currently halted pending full regulatory compliance.
“Production has since ceased,” Nutrifoods confirmed, adding it is cooperating transparently with the FDA to facilitate the recall. The company emphasized efforts to recover compromised products swiftly while safeguarding consumer trust.
